Writer: VVZ TravelsVVZ Travels

If watching January's Australian Open had you itching to pack your bags and witness the action courtside, now's the perfect time to start planning. Three more Grand Slams are on the horizon this year — in Paris, London and NYC (plus the smaller tournaments throughout the year). So, swap your sofa for a stadium seat and turn your love for tennis into an excuse for a trip.

Here’s everything you need to know, plus my top picks for where to stay while you’re there.

First up post-Melbourne is the French Open, otherwise known as Roland Garros, and the most intimate of the Grand Slam quartet. Running from May 19 to June 8, this tournament unfolds on its famous clay courts, which slow things down and demand strategic gameplay and stamina. This year’s tournament is tinged with anticipation as we see the first Roland Garros without Rafael Nadal, the undisputed “King of Clay.”

Wimbledon, running from June 30 to July 13, is not just about tennis — it’s about tradition. Players adhere to a strict all-white dress code, a hallmark of the tournament since the late 1800s, meant to keep things elegant and cool in the summer heat.

The fast-paced grass courts make for thrilling, high-energy matches. If you are positioned close to Centre Court’s Royal Box, you might catch a glimpse of the British royals or other VIPs. And of course, Wimbledon wouldn’t be complete without strawberries and cream — a traditional treat enjoyed by thousands of spectators annually. Pair that with a refreshing Pimm’s Cup, and you’ve got the quintessential Wimbledon experience.
